Welcome! Leilehua High School has undertaken te challenge of establishing a Learning Center in the area of agriculture. Leilehua High School Agriculture program is presently staffed with one full time teacher as well as three part time teachers.
The classess offered are: Natural Resources Pathway Core, Natural Resources Production 1, Biological Agric-science, and Plant systems 1. Course content and learning experiences in these classes are directly related to poential careers. Classroom instruction is reinforced with actual hands-on applications on the school land labrotory.
Students cultivate 3.0 acre of land labortory and conservation land as supervsed occupational experiences (SOE) projects. The conservation area includes a Ti leaf project and a kikuyu grass pasture. Citrus fruits, banana and ornamental flowers cover the coreners and edges of the land laboratory. The remainder of the land laboratory is cultivate for vegetable crops. An apiary of four bee hives were added in 1986 to help with polination of fruits and vegetables. Honey is a by product of the Apiary.
The Future Farmers of America (FFA) Organization is a National Organization for students enrolled in Agriculture Education and an integral part of the Learning Center.
